Description from artist regarding their vision of Peace:The Robber Baron in this painting is symbolic of the modern day, unaware, 1% corporate CEO. The viewer has the opportunity to recreate this character into the shaman / Hierophant shown planting his circle headed African staff into the ground, drawing up the earth's vital spiritual energy. He invokes a new dawn of recognition. He sees all is connected and there is no "us" and "them." His awareness unfolds visually in the deconstruction of his bowler hat into fragments of cut redwood trees ascending into the heavens and drawing down the Doves of peace from a higher consciousness. The horizontal plane with its factories belching filth are the results of his rapacious, myopic ambition and behind him are the other yet to be awakened greedists.
